After brushing ,you should rinse the brush head off while running to clean it of toothpaste . Ultrabrite or any other toothpaste is perfectly safe and will not destroy your tooth brush but the head will naturally wear in 3-6 months and should be replaced in that time . The toothbrush handle is sealed from any moisture and is not affected by any toothpaste .

Best Toothpaste For Sonicare

For years my dentist tried to get me to use baking soda with peroxide to brush my teeth with. All I could say to him was "yucky" -- then Mentadent came out with a Baking Soda & Peroxide mix and I've been using it ever since.

I don't use the Sonicare - I use Braun's Oral B. The electric toothbrush last me for about 5 years and then I get a new one. My first one was bought at Fortunoff's for $129.99 -- and just yesterday I was in Wal-Mart and picked on up for $18.83 -- what a price difference and it still does a great cleaning job.

I've asked different dentists and dental assistants - the two brands do about the same job as long as you use them right. One even recommended a different brand - sold at Dentist offices only - but I've had such great results with Mentadent and Braun - I'm not about to ditch a winning combination!

And btw - according to several old time dentist - baking soda for toothpaste is the best! I'm sure the Arm & Hammer toothpaste is doing a great job for you.

And when you have any doubts - stop asking folks like ask -- speak to your dentist. He or she will gladly give you the load down when it comes to discussing how to keep your gums and teeth healthy. (If not, time for a new dentist!)

I think any of the main stream toothpastes would work just fine - you could go to the Sonicare website and ask them the question about the specific model of toothbrush that you have.

i dont think that i would or at least not daily because that toothbrush is very good at removing plaque and i think that too many abrasives might be hard on your teeth.......perhaps use the whitening toothpaste once a week or so....i dont know how it affects the toothbrush

ive never combined it with a toothpaste. ive tried the baking soda by its self before with small amounts of peroxide. it works pretty good. tastes horrible. if u get to much of it on ure gums, u may notice some lil white spots. its ok. these are harmless. just ure gums reacting to the combination. brush with ure toothpaste after & ure good to go.

I can't see why it shouldn't be perfectly alright. If there was any problem, I'm sure it would be mentioned as a warning, on the tube or box - as lots of people use this type of paste.
