I do not know anyone who eats Armadillo on a regular basis, but I know when I did land survival training in Florida, the instructors taught us how to catch, clean and grill them. I have eaten them, and the meat was very similar to a very stringy pork. The taste was not bad- but it wasn't anything I would make a regular part of my diet. I did hear of folks in Texas who did, though I never actually met anyone who had done it more than once. So it probably isn't fiction.

I don't know anyone personally that eats it.
I would never eat one anyway, I love them.
But since people eat cats, dogs, kangaroos, humans, etc I'm sure SOMONE eats armadillo.

We have some guys from El Salvador who do yard work for us, and they eat armadillos. In fact, they will catch them in our yard and take them home to cook.
