The answer goes way back to the time of Abraham. Abraham had 2 sons, Ishmael by his house maid and Isac by his wife Sarah. Ishmael was the father of the ungodly nations and Isac was the father of the Godly nations and it was foretold that the two would never get along together. From the lineage of Ishmael evolved the Muslim religion and through the lineage of Isac evolved Christ. Christ himself stated that the Jews were not to be surprised that the world hated them because it hated him before it hated them. he said that they would always be despised because of him so what you see is prophesy being fulfilled

You're right; they are just people like everyone else. The unfortunate thing is that they expect everyone to regard them as having special "god given" rights and privileges to their land, while in fact they represent the last major colonial imposition by the European powers, and because although they are newcomers they insist that the whole neighbourhood should be run by them. The situation is not helped by the fact that they are armed and supplied to the teeth by the world's only remaining superpower. This superpower is itself seen to be antagonistic to Israel's neighbours. Being armed in this way, the Israelis don't feel the need to open dialogue with their neighbours since the violent option is seen as an acceptable way to deal with differences.

After 2000 years in exile, Jews returning to sovereignty in Israel is an unprecedented event in human history. The Bible said it would happen, and that's what terrifies the nations.

Well, for one thing, israel was carved out of arab lands by the UN and given away. Considering the stalemate that was the end of the fourth crusade, Muslims were left in quite a quandry -- the Quran told them that if they were obedient unto Allah, victory was assured. But a stalemate is hardly 'assured'. So you end up having the predominantly-muslim arabic culture already on edge about outside influence trying to divy up their lands, and this ingrained cultural fear that they were not devout enough to Allah, hence the stalemate instead of victory.

Then you have an outside source come in, 'steal' land (sorry, divvying up the spoils of war is not stealing, but to the arab muslims it must have seemed as such), and give it over to another ethnic and cultural group, and you have a powder keg looking to prove itself to Allah, and a lit fuse.

It was only a matter of time before it blew up.

(Before anyone accuses me of bias in this analysis, I'm an atheist.)

Israel was established in 1948 after the UN had divided the area into a Jewish and an Arab state, All the Arabs that lived there prior to that wasn't happy about the UN giving away their land.
How would you feel if the area where you live was suddenly given away to another people because their holy book said so? You were there first and now they tare down your house and claim your land as theirs.

Israel was placed on an account of another country. What would you say if you are kicked out of your home to go and find another one (regardless whether you can afford it or not) and live for 56 years looking at it wondering will you even have it back?? If you say the Jews have the right to this land, where were they 100s of years ago?

The United States pushed the United Nations into creating a country for the Isrealites/Hebrews/Jews after the end of WW 2. Sympathy was running high for them after the holocost. This country was placed right in the heart of the Arab/Muslim world. They were thrown out of their homes, they were thrown of the land that they had conquered and controlled for a thousand years. They were abused, dehumanized, thrown in slums and impoverished. They have nothing left to loose. Instead of their children collecting baseball cards their children collect the trading cards of suicide bombers because they feel that theywill not live to grow up so they idolize those who die young for a cause. Is it a wonder they strike out. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. I am a white Canadian athiest by the way so there is no missunderstandings

Please hate and blame others because they don't want to deal with there own problems, in there own country's. The Arab country's blame Israel for everything, this way they don't have to take responsibility for there own country where many of the people are without food and drinking water.
