I've one ad-ware on my PC which is in the system tray beside the clock, right-bottom coner of the screen.

it shows the Stop sign and "?" sign alternatively in a circle. It also shows that "Critical System Error!!". then sometimes there is a note pop up as saying

"System Alert: Malware threats
Your computer is infected with a back door Trojan that allows the remote attacker ......"

and when i click on the blinking sign it goes to this web-site:
http://www.virusburst.com/?aff=321

I've used the spybot software to remove but couldn't!!
i believe this is an ad-ware, or am i in trouble?
please help, as i am totally lost, thanks in advance for answering.

You have Spybot, also install Lavasoft Adaware.

Next time you boot the system, boot it into safe mode. This looks scary if you haven't done it before.

As the computer first starts - press the 'F8' key about once per second. Eventually you should get a 'boot menu'. Use the arrow keys to select 'Safe Mode' and press enter.

The screen looks big and ugly, but you can then run spybot and adaware. They will most likely fix the problem then.

Hope this helps

I'd recommend the Counter-Spy removal software. You can download a free trial at www.downloads.com but that expires in 15 days. Worth giving it a shot, I used to have what you have, and I used Counter-Spy to remove them all, so far so good.Oh, never click on the so-called "removal" sites that the pop-up signs show, they'll only make matters worse.
