The bible says that all who become teachers will have a stricter judgement. And Paul the Apostle says not to let a new beliver be a teacher because pride can take over. If you are asking to preach you are missing the mark. Your leaders should see your ability to teach or preach and you should not have to ask for that. if you have the gift to teach it will eventually manifest itself. Meanwhile have you volunteered to say help in Sunday school or a home bible study or youth group or some other place where you might begin to exercise some teaching? You must be tried and tested first before you get to preach in the leader role.

Maybe he's feeling insecure about himself? I think taking turns is a good idea. Everyone should learn to share.

I sense that I have answered this question badly, as if I am missing some information. So I have to ask....what church do you go to? Depending on the church...maybe your church has rules about that sort of thing. Like maybe you have to take a specific course before you can preach, or maybe you have to wear a particular piece of clothing or something.

I wish I could be of more help.

Preachers suffer from a controll freak syndrome and whilst you are listening to them they feel a certain sense of power, also maybe your preacher has something to hide that he is afraid you might know about and given the right opportunity you might reveal to his so called flock

Teaching is a job that biblical is reserved for Elders. Do you meet the qualifications? Look up elder in your concordance in Timothy. If you don't meet the qualifications, and haven't been set aside, then you have no right to insist on it.

Also, I hear pride in your question. Examine yourself. Set others above yourself. Your question indicates a huge lack of christian maturity.

You are either
1) in the wrong church as in the pastor is wrong as you should be allowed to preach a biblical message.
2) you are wrong, and the pastor is looking out for others
3) you are not ready yet, or have a lot sin in your life, and the call to pastor is a deep sincere one, and not just some religious experience to notch on you belt ........for starters.
