I was robbed yesterday when someone mace or pepper sprayed my room trying to spray me. I didn't suffer any demise from it but it may have gotten into the rolling tobacco. He's complaining of his chest hurting now, real bad. Can this be from the spray? Should I take him to the ER?

I'm a bit confused, but "he" should not smoke the tobacco that has pepper spray on it. It will activate when heat touches it and when inhaled, it will inflame the bronchial tubes of the lungs and even the throat and mouth. If "his " chest is hurting or feeling tight, like it's hard to breath, he needs to get to the hospital NOW. Tell the nurse and doctor that "he" was exposed to pepper spray.

Unless you sprayed the mace directly into the lungs, it wouldn't do any harm. And, if you were robbed, who is complaining of chest pain - maybe it's a bad load of tobacco? If the pain persists, go to an ER for safety sake - it could be something else more serious.

No harmfuel effects at all, the OCR Oliresin Capsicum spray uses peppers as the main ingredient, it can burn the eyes and inflame the mucus membranes in eyes, nose and throat, even lungs if inhaled. If they are predisposed to breathing problems it can just cause inflamtion to the already existing problem, not fatal unless once again they have a severe attack, IE Asthma or something like that...generally not a problem

I don't think so, he may just be freaking himself out, but he should see a doc just to be sure.
