She can’t read your mind. Explain to her nicely and clearly how you want your friendship to be. It could hurt her a little but probably she will understand that it is for her own good. Wish you the best.

there is really no way to say it without hurting her. you can be polite as possible and she will not take it easy. unless you fear her closeness, are you afraid of her rejecting you, so you have to reject her. you sound like such a nice guy, that I am really confused.. you worry that she may to close to you. have you done anything to make her think otherwise. have a talk with her and tell her you like being friends with her. tell her you enjoy her friendship because right now your not looking for anything more then a friendship. hopefully she will get the hint. and if not. well then you may have to be more to the point next time. if she is such a great person, then it would be hard to loose her as a friend. but then can lovers ever become friends, or friends lovers... not without any pain developing.. you said you do not wish to be dominated by anyone... so is she bossing you and controlling you....you never really said why you feel she is being dominate. you worry that she may be to close to you and you fear domination .ok now I see what your getting at. you are insecure and you are afraid of rejection? is that it

There are two roads to travel, the direct and inderect.
To be direct, just tell her that she is great and you really value her friendship. But, tell her that you are too busy to spend all the time that she wants with her and that you need more time to yourself; She'll understand.
The inderct route involves another woman, whom you say is your girlfriend. Make sure she is with you sometime that you are going to see this other girl. Be friendly, and introdce your "new girfriend." You could even go so fr as to suggest that you all do a group outing together sometime.

Mention to her the next time about some other girl that you are interested in. She will get the main hint from there. You don't have to tell her to buzz off.. just tell her you're meeting someone else you fancy and will catch up with her later.

Mention how fun it would be if she could find herself a boyfriend and you a girlfriend so ya'll couple double date. Then ask her what mutual friends she thinks she might be interested in.
If that doesn't give her an IN YOUR FACE hint, then run like the devil!
