I have movies stored on my computer, but every time I open one up, a message comes up that says "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem." It says this statement every time i open up any type of movie or video file. I have tried uninstalling and installing again, but it doesn't seem to work. I have Windows Media Player 11. No matter what movies I watch, it seems to open up that message and I click send error and close, and then it closes Windows Media Player down. If anyone would know as to why this would happen or how to correct it, please let me know. I can't watch any videos now on my computer using the program.

if u wanna run movies on media player, then uninstall it & install media player10 instead of 11 & if u wanna use 11 at any cost then uninstall it, remove its directory from program files folder manually & re-install it. other resolution is to install some other software like jetaudio or bas player.

Are these ripped DVDs? If so Media Player doesn't ship with the ability to play DVDs. You need to install a codec to let it play them. The easiest way to get this codec is to download and install the demo version of some commercial DVD player.
