If the dog has rabies - which is kind of unusual nowadays - or if the wound gets infected. If you know the dog and it is healthy, all you need to do is disinfect the wound and if you are really worried take antibiotics as a precaution for 4 days. If the dog is suspicious for rabies, you may need a shot for rabies at the hospital, again before having any symptoms.

I can't believe what idiots respond to these questions on this board. Of course you can die from a dog bite, there are many cases of young children being attacked by a dog and it being fatal.
It depends on the size of the dog (although not always), the age/size of the person bit, etc. Of course rabies/etc matters too, but many times that can be curable if dealt with immediately. A lot of it has to do with the size of the dog, the human, and where the dog bite occured on the body.

Don't look a dog right in the eye.
Don't disturb a dog that is sleeping, eating or caring for puppies.
Don't play with a dog without allowing it to see and sniff you first.
If a dog bites you, tell an adult right away.

If a dog bite becomes infected, it can cause death if not treated.. If a dog bites your jugular vein, or femoral artery, you could bleed to death..or a dog can make multiple wounds, so that a person can bleed to death..Or a dog can have rabies, and spread the disease to a person through biting them...Aslo, a very large dog can cause a fatal head injury..

if your dog aint vaccinated probably youll die cuz of rabies... but i dont know like what they say here... just observed the dog if the dog will die or acting really weird for few days after the dog bitten someone then... there is a posibility that you have rabies and there is a posibility that youll die... go to the doctor!!! and have a check up!!

you sure can die from a dog bite if a dog has rabies & it bites you & you dont seek medical help then you will die .... also if a dog bites into a main arterie you can bleed to death....

Seriously though, as long as the dog didn't have rabies, and the bleeding stops, probably your only concern would be infection.

Depends how deep the wound is, and where it is. You can if you get bitten by a dog with Rabies.

no u cant die by a dog bit. if its severe then u will just have to take some shots. or get a disease wich is most likely curable.
