A bad swing lol. You are not hitting your ball with the open face and center of the ball. You should have a pro where you play check your swing, could be where you are standing...too close, too far, your grip, your swing or all three. Hard to say without being able to see what you are doing.

I would agree that you are standing too far away from the ball and having to reach for the ball, thus pushing your club to far towards the far side of the ball during impact.

Try standing a little closer. This would bring your back and shoulders a little more straight at addressing the ball and your club head closer to the center of the ball during impact.

I have been playing golf for the last 25-30 years. I am no pro, but have taken golf lessons. Hope this helps.

Perhaps you have the wrong golf club lie. Lie is the angle in degrees of the golf club head in relation to the shaft.
The lie can be too flat, just right or too up right.

If your golf lie is too flat, then the toe will hit the ground. Your ball goes to the right if you're a right hand player and to the left if you are a leftie.

If your golf club lie is too upright, then the heel will hit te ground. Your ball flies to the left if you are a right handed. And to the right if you're left hand player.

You have the right club lie when the sole touches the ground in the middle.

The right club lie depends on your lenght. Are you tall, then choose for clubs with a more upright lie and longer shafts.

The smaller you are: choose for golf clubs with less lie and a little bit shorter shafts. Custom golf clubs are a possible solution to get the lie angles you need.

Move an inch closer. When you stand too far from the ball, you reach for it as you swing and to maintain your balance, your body moves back. When you address the ball, your hands should be hanging freely just about directly under your nose.

standing too far from the ball and perhaps an open club face during impact - stand closer to the ball, try to keep a "tall" spine angle - also, make sure you're uncocking your wrists during impact - if you keep your wrists ****** from the takeaway, they will come through open - good luck
