i'm not one to go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary, and I know you can't afford it, but you HAVE to go. the big clues here are trouble with getting words out and numbness. I know you're afraid, but you have two children who need you around. Go to the doctor. GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!

Please read this through. I just realized after writing it, how long it is, but it should be very helpful. I've been in your shoes, and still am after years... I wish I could fix it somehow, but it's (stress) a fact! Do what I did, get yourself checked out for the sake of your children. Get the right meds. Let the bills go, what else can you do??
Your babies need you.

Well...my friend... I do believe 100% that it is stress related. I am a single mother, my daughter is ten now. I have a happy life, a great child, lot's of friends, a good job that has lot's of flexibilty, a great dog....life is good....and has been for the last eight years when my problems first started. Mine started eight years ago, like I said. I had some clues something was wrong. I would fly off the handle for something so simple and silly that my daughter would do when she was all of two years old. It followed me to work, I could actually feel my heart skipping beats, which would totally freak me out and then I would get the blurry vision and hard to take a breath, breathing really fast but not getting a "full" breath. I went to the emergency room two times with chest pains and not able to catch my breath. I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. I was 28 at the time. On my first visit to the ER, the DR. on duty diagnosed me with stress and anxiety and scheduled me an appointment with my regular DR. the same week. Before I had a chance to make it to my appointment that same week, alot of things happened. The worst was being in the grocery store, I was over halfway finished with my shopping, my cart was half full, my daughter (age 2) was sitting in the front of the cart and for no reason I freaked out. The store started closing in on me, I could hear people talking around me and they sounded like they were saying WWaaWwAAaWAaA , that's all I could hear. So, with blurry vision and feeling like everyone in the store knew I was freaking out, I grabbed my daughter, left the basket and found the fastest way out to my car. Once I was inside my car most of it went away. I saw my DR. that week sure that something was seriously wrong that the ER didn't find. He ran every test, EKG (which I said I didn't believe in, it will only show you if something is happening at that minute). He sent me home wearing a holter moniter and the next day I had an EchoCardioGram. I had no insurance, the hospital and Dr. bills from this have made my credit wonderful !!!
Everything came back as fine. My Dr.'s words exactly were "your health and heart are stellar". I broke down crying as he asked me about my personal life. I cried so hard while trying to tell him about my life, that I thought was fine. He said to me..."a person with heart disease, diabetes, any other diseases (these had all been ruled out)doesn't break down when asked to talk about their everyday routine. He was right! He put me on an anti-depressant. It worked for about two months.

I had another ER episode where I really thought I was dying, My eyes were dilated, my chest and arms, legs everything was numb. The Dr. in the ER told me the same thing, "STRESS" . I couldn't take this as an answer anymore. I just couldn't believe it! I changed DR.'s and had no records transfered. I started off new, with a new Dr. and guess what! He changed my anti-depressants, he said they were not the best combination with the new med. that he was also going to give me. SO...now here I am, a few ER visits, tons of tests, two Dr's and eight years later. (I still have no insurance) Long story, I know. It's just to let you know that you have no idea the stress you go through each day. You have young children. It's terrible to think that children cause stress because they are the most beautiful thing that can happen to us. But.... I still take my meds daily and would be bad off without them. Sometimes, I still have a "small" freak out in certain situations, but you learn how to handle them better. If your against meds, the best way to handle it is --do not breath fast like your body is telling you to do, that makes the vision blurry and the limbs numb, sometimes you don't even realize your breathing soooo fast. I still have to stop myself from doing that . Just take a deeeeep nose inhale and a slow mouth exhale, you should be able to tell a difference after doing this 3-4 times, you'll at least be functional again. It's hard to do when your "freaking out" - but it does help tremendously!

I hope this didn't upset you, but I really DO think your problem is stress related. It took me a long time to believe it!

I know you said you don't have insurance, but you seriously need to get into a doctor as soon as you can. If you're worried about how you'll be able to pay for the bill try looking up your local red cross or see about going on-line to your city's official website to look for organizations or government programs that can and will help with the cost.

either way, you need to get into a doctor. And I am being very serious about that. You shouldn't mess around with the types of symptoms you are having.

Sounds like a tumor. Numbness in certain limbs is a sign of blood not getting to them. It has to be coming from the brain because of the blurred vision, headaches and trouble speaking. I'd go to the doctor before it gets worse.

Those symptoms signify a lot of problems you could be having. You could have high blood pressure, diabetes, flu, or just about anything. You should go to a doctor as you need to be diagnosed and you need not spread something contagious around. It may turn out to be not as bad as you anticipate.

seriously, its seems to be severe migraines or maybe even mild strokes.
Those symptoms really need to be checked out by a doctor. Most clinics have a sliding scale fee for low income families. Take care and God Bless!

This does not sound good. Go to a doctor ASAP and have your brain scanned. It sounds like a tumor but I can't be sure till the result of the scan shows of a tumor. Do not waste anymore time.

It is absolutely necessary. I don't have insurance either, but check around where you live and there are hospitals that go by your income if you do not have insurance. Either they give you a discount or even 100% free services. But do get this checked out!
