When i go into the menu opption the sound comes in better but no picture. I have tried every channel possible. I have openned the unit and check all wires and they all seem good. I have wiped and cleaned everything but still nothing. How can i fix this problem? Thank you. I have a Sylvania SRD-2900.

Is it a PAL vs NTSC issue?

the issue may be via 60hz (cps) means line interference making its way into the television both by the cables that are appropriate to the television or by the AC means cord. an outstanding try is to unhook each little thing and connect a VCR to the television and play a movie to work out how the television exhibit seems. If the television exhibit would not educate the lines at the same time as playing a movie, the issue is getting into the television from between the cables. attempt hooking up one merchandise at a time till the noise bars look, at the same time as they attempt this cable or gadget is the reason behind the noise bars.

Its hard to tell. Did this just start happening or has it happened ever since you installed the VCD/DVD player? One guess I have is to check your cables. I know on mine that if I have the s-video cable and the RGB cables hooked to my TV, it will only use the s-video as the input. If this is the case with you, try disconnecting the s-video cable and see if it works. Typically the s-video is used for the DVD only, not the VCR.

Unplug the set, and wait for about 2 minutes, plug it again, and wait 30 seconds, eject the DVD, eject the tape, then insert the tape again choose VCR option from the remote, play, if you failed, throw it away.
