I've learned that education is very important if you want to get anywhere in life. 1 month before I was supposed to graduate,I was told that I would have to take two more years in order to graduate. So, I dropped out.
I'm 23 now, and since dropping out, I haven't been able to get a decent job and no one takes me seriously on different subjects.. all because I didn't finish school.
I have, however... Learned so much on my own, with computers, accounting.. things like that.. Also, I've decided to get my High School Diploma through distant learning, PCDI. Having an education can open so many doors for you. I'm just sorry it took me so long to realize that.

Education gives you the ability to evolve as a person. To grow and be able to make informed choices about the world we live in. It gives us the chance to live a better life than our ancestors as education is more freely available so we can now have better jobs than our grandparents and so on. You learn skills that are needed for society to be stable, emergency services for example, they needed to learn how to do their jobs so we could be as safe as possible. I work in a school in a deprived area where many of the children rebel against the education they are being offered, they lack social skills because of this and roam the streets at night. Lack of education can lead to teen pregnancy - if a teenage girl bunked off school to hang around on the streets then she will have no career to work for. She may feel that having children is all she can do. This has been proven in deprived areas. Hope this has helped.

Try imagining flipping a burger day after day. Now imagine owning a restaurant instead. Non-education is flipping burgers for hardly any pay at all. Education is owning the restaurant and maybe taking vacations in Hawaii.

Just try to imagine what your life would look like if you could not read and write. Education is often very important, but not everything.
