You can go to format and cells and change any number within a cell to be a percentage - if you wish it to appear on the screen in the percentage format - however, as with previous answer - you need to do the calculation using the = sign

Yes. The other posters are correct. Just remember that a formula starts with a equal sign.
A1=£400
B1=£170
What is the difference between the 2 figures listed as a percentage.
=B1/A1*100
which gives 42.5%

In the cell, use the "=" sign and then you can do any calculation you want. You can reference cells by their name- So you if cel A2 contained 20 and cell A3 Contained 40 you could type in cell A5 " =((A2/A3*100)) That would give you 50%

press = sign before all calculations and its that simple, also if you want to find out 36% of $500 type in =500x0.36, hope it helps
