BPO is expected to grow tremendously in India. Except that we are moving up the value chain. Instead of smaller and low skill functions such as call centers, Medical Transcriptions and such, the growth could be more on knowledge based services-you could call it KPO. Of course, the low skill level services could grow, but not as fast as the highly skilled ones-today a lot of Indian developers, companies are into building software, applications, doing jobs that require higher skill sets, etc., basically what you could call quality work-and the Indian quality is said to be far better than the people in the principal company's country. The global community expects the next big invention or development out of India.
