Because he was there, and that is what it looks like. He has seen things and done things that he could not imagine witnessing and doing. War is Hell. And this War is a mistake of the first order.
All these dead kids for nothing.
All these dead kids for nothing.
All these dead kids for nothing.

Soldiers are human beings, not machines. But there is something in common they have with mechanical equipment: they have a breaking point.
Push them too far, too hard, too long, and they'll feel the strain too. That Marine, obviously, has been under a lot of stress. Can you blame him for finally needing an outlet for it? I certainly can't. Did CNN say anything about the background information on that trooper? I bet not. Did they say how long he's been deployed from his camp of FOB? How long he's been going without a hot shower, a bed and hot meals? How much action he's seen so far? How many of his friends he's seen go home in a box, or to Germany because they got shot up? How many human lives have been at the business end of his rifle? How many dead children he's had to wade through?
I would bet not. War is hell for the civilians, it's even worse for the soldiers. To the people back home it sounds horrific on the news, but for the troops on the ground, it's day to day life, viewed first-hand, not through a TV crew and the editing process. So do everyone a favour, erudite, and stop insulting those men and women out there putting their lives on the lines and dying, and those who in the past have risked their lives and died.
It's because of them that you're not speaking German or Japaneese and that you can say things like this and not risk being summarily executed for it.

The hiding the head in the sand continues. Not able to accept the reality of what is going on in the world, and has been for 20 years or more.
It is strange to see others in the hospital fighting to get well so they can rejoin their units in Iraq. They know the truth of what they are fighting for, even if so many at home won't gain that realization because of the tremendous propaganda machine that has been active. Those service people are well aware of what is taking place at home and are really concerned. It is actually giving them a kick in the stomach and they really are not appreciative of the effort. Talk about demoralizing.. perhaps that is the intent of the propaganda.. demoralize the troops so they stop fighting.. then we have to face the terrorists in our home court.. don't know why these people don't wake up and get their head out of the sand. Particularly since many are aware the democrats were suggesting the same action be taken, as far back as 1998.. Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy, and the (lady?) Albright. They sure changed their spots when Bush came into office and did what they failed to do. Even though that was what they were proposing at that time.

Because he is a man and subjected to conditions that would drive most humans into catatonia. Only their training keeps them going when their commander in chief and their leadership prove to be fools and the orders they have to carry out require twice the men they have. When they go back into the line repeatedly contrary to the guidelines the military have established. Because he is a man he knows when he is not fighting to achieve the stated aims of his leadership but to make his leaders mistake right.
These men and women are citizens of the USA not something created in a creche so stop expecting machine like qualities. You guys figure you had trouble with a few Viet Nam vet's got home wait until these brothers, sons, husbands, and uncles come home. Your going to be paying for the shrub's little war for a long time.
As for why is he crying. Wouldn't you cry if you leadership used everything you value to put you in a jam and then betrayed for a politicians need to get reelected or not look bad in public? Watch your buddies die for no reason in a battle you would have won if you leaders had stood up and said this is what is needed militarily to win and bugger what it would do politically? All the shrub had to do was provide shock and awe, but he listened to what he wanted to hear and now you will lose in Iraq. If someone invaded your country no matter that you hated the leadership of your country you would fight. No man would stand on the curb side waving a flag while enemy tanks roll by. Forget the terrorists its the man who doesn't like strangers yelling at him in a foriegn language you have to worry about.

There could be a million reasons for him crying and he might believe we should not be in Iraq. But you can bet CNN (Communist News Network) won't show the vast majority of the troops voicing their support for our efforts.

War brings out emotions in the hardest of men. He could have also been a Marine/actor hired by the democrats to better their odds.

When the enemy says this and I QUOTE from a Osma Bin Laden interview from 1996, "We will not differentiate from American civilians and American soldiers"
I would gladly go serve if I was old enough and keep the fight in thier backyard, not ours.

People make fun of others to hide their own insecurities. I think you know that if you were there, you would be crying for your mommy too. I know I would.
