It is incumbent upon this nation to support all of the troops lest we repeat the mistakes of Vietnam. However, when needed, support should stop at the origins of command which are the policy makers. i.e. The commander in chief and his cohorts.
One can support the troops and not support the policies simultaneously. They are mutually exclusive! One of the best ways to exercise any influence, and show our approval/disapproval, is by voting.
Perhaps, the greatest support that we can offer our troops is by bringing them home!

Yes, people still believe in freedom and that it is worth fighting for. It is the malcontents that get all the notice as the media will not print or show anything favorable that our troops are doing. They never show them building schools, hospitals, feeding children, mending broken civilian bodies that were tortured by their own people, helping rebuild the water plants, electrical grids, etc, etc. Ask any of the everyday Iranian's if they want us to leave and the answer is a resounding NO. They don't want to return to the old government they had.
The press only gives time to the terrorists and malcontents to spout off.

I don't know. It's a very good question. How can a country remain at war without the support of the people? It doesn't matter that it's a good idea to stay, or that if we pull out of Iraq the country will collapse in on itself in an all-out civil war free-for-all. I think that the buck stops after the troops on the line; ESPECIALLY WITH BUSH. He should be thrown in jail for the **** he's done.

You should always support your troops. It is the administration that you should have your conflict with. People who are against the military because they are stationed or deployed overseas in Iraq/Afghanistan obviously don't understand that they are mandated to go over. Whatever opinions you may have towards policies etc should not be taken out on the military.

YES, the support stops at politicians, it is our job as citizens to control politicians, this is supporting our troops so that we do not send them into unnecessary war or combat.

The first civilian suit should be jailed and so on up the chain of Command. But I know you will not listen. So go ahead, the end of this mess will be real easy to comprehend.
