Yeah.....I'd like to follow them and see where they're going! When they stop, give them one of their speeches...."do you know how fast you were going, do you realize you could have hurt someone, including yourself?" "If you were late, why didn't you leave a little earlier?" "Are you aware of the posted speed limit?"
There was a day I got fed up and called in to a highway patrol office after being tailgated for a while and then blown past after I took the right lane. After politely asking what governed the speed of their patrol cars on the public roads, I was told they were held to the very same rules as regular vehicles are. At that point I told him what just happened and said how unsafe it was I got a bunch of political B.S. and no straight and meaningful answers from him from that point on. We argued on the phone for about 45 minutes and I reminded him that his funding came out of our pockets and if this activity continued, I wasn't above getting public attention/news coverage involved and I would very much like being led on the roads by example and not by hypocrisy and I hung up on him. The activity has lessened some, but not stopped.

Many times a police officer on a call will not run lights and siren. For example, if there is a silent hold up alarm at a business, the police will come in as quietly as they can, meaning that they will not have the emergency equipment activated. They do not want the criminal to hear them coming in, and be able to flee!
They also will travel on the highway at a speed higher than the speed limit, in an attempt to catch speeders. If the speed limit is65 PH and someone is going 75 MPH, and officer driving at or below the speed limit will never see them.
As to your idea of them talking on the speaker, I think that is just plain silly. They do not owe you an explanation of why they are passing you! Police officers put their lives on the line to protect the public. They deserve our respect, not people whining about them going a bit too fast!!!

Yes. Some cops tries to be hotshots just because they have a badge and a police car. Cops should follow the law as everyone else. If they are to pass or speed they are to have their lights on,so other people can know that cops are needed for an emergency. But if its not an emergency then theres no excuses . They should follow rules!!!!!!!!!!

How about the ones that shine that bright spot light at you while driving. It can blind you and you can crash. They're done that to me 4 times I hate them when they do that. If they have a problem they should pull me over. I wish there was a way to report them because I would?? But you are right about them always passing you with no warning what so ever!!!!!!

I get even more pissed when they do something like they did today. The officer turned on his lights and siren so he could go around traffic at a stop light. 20 feet from the stop light he pulls into a parking lot, gets out and starts groping his girlfriend. THAT was inappropriate.

I especially liked it after they did it right after giving me a speeding ticket.
I wanted to slash their tires.
