Call up his commanding officer or the commandant of the base. They'll tell him that he can either pay up or get kicked out.

See a lawyer skilled in child support issues. The Army frowns on it's Soldiers not paying child support. Once a court order for support is issued your lawyer will file it with the local command and they will begin an allotment which will send the money straight from his pay to the appropriate court.

Judging by the way you phrased the question "my son's Dad" rather than "my Ex husband" suggests that you've not used the courts yet...

In the US, the family courts in your STATE award child-support. First, contact your welfare case-worker... the state will then contact the Army and give them a court order for him to pay... in most cases, the Department of Defense then takes the money directly out of his pay.

The Military will always ensure that the service member meets his/ her legal obligations on this matter.

without a court order demanding child support, the Command cannot and will not get involved. It's a private matter that has nothing to do with the military. You cannot do anything without that court ordered child support agreement. If you were never married, or the father's name is not on the Birth certificate, you may be required to provide proof of paternity as well. at your expense.

Once you have that court order, you can contact him and see about getting an allotment set up. If he refuses to do so voluntarily, THEN you can go to the command, BUT they cannot order him to do so without that court order.

you have to etablish the parent child relationship, because you didnt say if you were ever married to him and most times without a court order it really isnt much the military will do to enforce the child support unless the childs on his page 2 which he cannot be if he isnt even supporting the child, does he clam the child?Maybe the best thing for you to do is go to childrens services and they will help you get the ball rolling in the right direction I hope this helps. Before you attemp to go to his command please make sure you have a court order proving that he is in fact your childs father or you will get no where.

Im sorry but the best way is to approach the situation civilly and contact your son's dad. Im assuming you are both adults and should be able to come to an agreement without having to tattle to his boss. Lets give our children a good example, and behave like adults. Geez

You ought to give more details. If you were married to him any time, it is relevant whether a divorce has taken place. If no divorce, you need to make an application for maintenance. You can do this in the criminal court of your area. you need to hire an advocate in the court and submit an application giving details of the designation, present posting etc. of the person. In case you were not married, you need to file a civil case, declaring the person as the father of your child, and praying for maintenance. This is a long drawn procedure. could take 2-3 years. a DNA test to confirm paternity is necessary. In any case the father would be made to pay. In the meantime you could also write a detailed letter by registered post to the commanding officer of the unit where is working, imploring him to use his good offices and persuade the father to pay up.

First of all child support is court ordered so why don't you get a lawyer? You can't just tell someone to pay child support, if they don't want to and there is no court order than really they don't have to pay it. That's horrible of them if they don't but hey what can you do. GET A LAWYER!

How long has it been since you went to court on the matter? How much does he owe in back and/or have to pay each month?
If amount has already been set by the court then you can contact his company commander by phone or letter and he will rectify the situaction.

As much as I hate to say this, contact his unit directly. Or if you know the number to the Personnel Service Branch for his base that's a way to go as well.

Of course the best way is to keep the communication open with him and tell him you will go up his chain of command if he doesn't voluntarily help you out.
