Maybe he wouldn't vote at all. Didn't he say, "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, & render unto god what is god's." And didn't he say to come out of this world & be ye separate? He may have decided to not vote at all.

There's this scene in the Old Testament where Joshua (the guy leading the Israelites into the Promised Land) is out by himself one night and comes across a dude with a sword. This dude with a sword happens to be "the Angel of the Lord." Most Christians believe this be the "pre-incarnate Christ" (meaning it's Jesus showing up before He's born in that stable in Bethlehem).

Joshua boldly confronts this imposing Dude with a Sword. "Are you for us or against us??" he demands to know.

You know what Jesus said back? "No."

Of course, He said more than that... "but as the Captain of the Armies of Heaven I have come..."

In other words, the question wasn't if Jesus was on Joshua's side or not... but if Joshua was on Jesus' side.

How does this apply to your question? Let's face it: Most Christians vote Republican, thinking they have the backing of the Lord. But the point isn't the party line. The question isn't whether or not God is on your side: are you on God's side? God's not republican. And He's not a democrat. He's not about advancing your party or building your kingdom-- He's building His own. He's already got a King picked out: Jesus. And He's not exactly going to be voted in.. (See Psalm 2).

If those were the only two choices and he had to vote, and he did exist in the first place.. He would vote Democrat.

Good point. But Jesus was not (or at least is PR reps have left us the tradition that he was not) a political animal. Therefore his vote is secret.

But I have no doubt that virtually all Republicans think he's on their side.

Only George W. Bush knows for sure: Jesus seems to speak directly to him and only to him. (Hugo Chavez won't agree, but there you are: that's politics at work.)

Jesus said he was no part of this world. As such, he would have nothing to do with the political affairs of it, and would not vote.
