If its you personal computer try the link below... its pretty self easy. if this is a company laptop.. get your IT guy to do it for you.. its actually pretty easy. Also is this your Harddrive? Board Bios? or Windows login?

Try to restore a backed up System State (in Windows 2000 /XP /2003) or a ERD (in NT 4.0) in which you do remember the password. The problem with doing so is that you'll probably lose all of the recently add users and groups, and all the changed passwords for all of your users since the last backup was made.

Or install a parallel operating system on a different partition on the same computer, then use a simple trick to gain access to the old system.

For business laptop, there are probably 3 passwords.

- Harddrive password
- BIOS password
- Windows XP (or XP Pro) password

You need to be more clear about which password you forgot and what's your machine model.

Forgotten your password, omg you're getting in trouble. Because i had this problem before and at last i decided to reformat everything, same to my friend. So if you're forgetful, don't set passwords!

like your operating system account log in password???

if so, guess any and every thing it could possibly be, even the things that you write off as "no i wouldntve made it that"

theres prolly a "forgot password" button, but im not going to go through the hassle of logging out of everything to find out :-/
