The person is in custody; however, property (clothing, car keys, cell phone, etc..) did not follow him. Who do you contact for this problem? Thank you.

Personally, I think that when someone is being deported, they should not be leaving with anything more than what they came into the country with - usually, presumably the clothes they were wearing and a backpack (all the pics I see of the illegals who are caught as they run over the border, they have a backpack). Even any cash on them should be confiscated, as well as anything they may have in a bank account, as these are obviously ill-gotten gains. Vehicles, TVs, stereos, all electronic equipment. No, they should not be able to take this stuff with them when they are deported. Sorry!

call the police dept where the person is being held. ask them if you can bring it to them to give to him when he leaves.
