Your feelings are what keeps religion alive, and are quite normal. You will always have a feeling of doubt in your mind when leaving a religion. It`s the same for every religion, you will feel equally bad whether you leave Islam, Christianity, Hinduism or any religion. For this reason it can be deduced that the feeling dosen`t lie in the religion your leaving, but rather in yourself and in every person. I can relate to you as an atheist, born and raised amongst theists of all denominations, whom has extensively searched for truth on my own, with nobody to taint my views. I can surely tell you that no religion is correct, but instead are a source of comfort for their followers. Good luck with your journey.

Nope cause I feel that all the choices I have make have gotten me to where I am at today. I am still alive so I must be doing something right. If you worry about making the wrong decisions too much your life will pass you by.
I'm not sure which religion your family chooses to practice however anyone who do follow their guidelines they think its wrong and evil. Over look them and do what you think is right for you. If you make some bad decisions in life so be it, that is a part of life and everyone makes a bad decision from time to time but they learn from them.

Life is nothing but a series of choices, and unless you possess the gift of second sight, you can't possibly know until the results are in if the choice you made was the right one.
We all feel this way, at least occasionally. After awhile you learn to quit second guessing yourself and you become more confident in the choices you make.
A friend once told me, when I was worrying about everything.."If what troubles you is something you can act on and take control of, then do it and quit worrying. If it's something in which you have no control over, then what happens, happens. So what do you have to worry about?"
Excellent advice that I use everyday.

Wrong decisions? We all make them. They are called choices. Not Mistakes. Mistakes are something you admit you were wrong in doing. But choices are more optional. You have a choice between red and black. You choose red. In the end, you realize you should have choosen black. It was a choice and you made your decision. I know it sounds like that same, but it isn't in my mind.
I was also raised quite religious and my family hates that I no longer attend church and classify myself as an atheist. To me, I simply question to much. I question everything around me on a constant daily basis and the Bible does not give me any solice. As far as your family is concerned, you need to do what makes you happy. Don't conform to anyone just because you are different from them.

As long as you are still seeking answers you will find them. You must be true to yourself. We all have many choices to make everyday. Sometimes we make good ones and sometimes not so good but that is all a part of living. My family is very religious and I was disowned for leaving their religion. I still have God in my life, I am true to myself and enjoying more peace!!

I was raised by religious parents, too. My mother knows I'm an atheist (Dad died last year) and while she's not happy about it, she knows that I have given it a LOT of thought and it's who I am. I cannot live my life worrying about the choices I've made once they are made. If I hurt someone, I try to make amends, but if it's a choice that only affects me and it's the wrong one, I live with it.
Just think and read and think some more. The truth for you will come in its own time. You will be true to yourself. Your life is your own, not your family's... they have their own lives to lead.
You'll be fine.

They are called mistakes. Everybody makes them. Although being true to yourself isn't a mistake. You owe it to yourself.Living up to someone else's expectations will only make you miserable.
