Spring Hill Nurseries uses illegal workers. We have spent hundreds of dollars ordering from them and will not spend another cent there anymore.
Denny's hires illegals. We have e-mailed both these companies and will find other places to spend our money....
My $$ doesn't add up to a heck of a lot, but if 10,000 of us chose another restaurant and another source for our plants...it would matter.
I did find a nursery in SC that does not use illegals...and of course, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from....

To the immigration attorney....my husband is also an attorney....he is the attorney for the Minuteman Coalition of our state and we do know our facts. Perhaps you are fearful that your particular area of law may dry up...stands to reason you would champion illegals.
As the tide turns you may find yourself to be rather unpopular. Perhaps you might consider widening your area of law.

To those of you who are hooked on chain restaurants..some of the best restaurants we've found are small, family owned places. They have a vested interest in their product and will only succeed if they put out good food. They try harder.
For those of you already boycotting....thank you for being an American Patriot.
For those of you who resort to insults because you have no argument to my reasonable question... pitiful......

I try my best...I don't even drink Kahlua or Tequila now....
numbersUSA.com is an anti-illegal website that puts out good info on this kind of "stuff" they also send out alerts of what's happening in our government and let you fax congress free. I did this about a year ago & have never received spam because of signing up. They gave an address for companies NOT hiring illegals if anyone is interested....

This is a good start and should be encouraged, so long as a worker's legal/illegal status can be confirmed. I've seen Local News networks conduct "Investigative Reports" revealing the unethical practices of local businesses, employment of illegals should be investigated and reported also.
Being that most illegals work for small businesses and not big corporations, there should be legislation passed to provide incentive to small businesses. Laws in California have discouraged many entrepreneurs from starting new businesses. These laws financially punish owners for hiring even one employee. In turn, some owners have chosen to "side step" the financial burden by paying workers "under the table". While most US Citizens won't or cannot work off the books, most illegals will and often prefer working "off the books." Businesses that employ illegals need to be punished, there must also be incentive to start a business. If the cost of operation is/becomes greater than the revenue, that business either; never gets started or goes out of business.
We don't want and cannot afford to put companies out of business. This will increase unemployment, create greater competition in the job market, further straining our economy and our society.
Regardless, the number one concern should be securing the border. Second; punish business employing illegals. Third; encourage creation of new businesses and ease financial requirements on small businesses. US Citizens are more than capable of working on and accomplishing multiple tasks. Now WE need to "Want to do it".
Thanks.

well it's like the thing with Citgo. Some people won't buy their gas there because of the whole thing with Venezuela.
Vote with your dollars...
What'd be a GREAT 'boycott' is if people stopped buying pot etc.
I believe that the US/Mexico border fence will have a very positive impact on the whole mess. If cities and states nationwide all get behind the idea of 'no illegals', we'll be a lot farther down the road. Denny's will probably never notice the impact, you know? They just wanna hire people to work in their place, can't fault em for that, but it's up to their management to make sure their employees are legal. I think your letters will have a bigger impact than you not eating in their restaurant, because frankly all companies have CEO's, and if that guy/gal has a 2-ton pile of mail on their desk faulting illegal hiring practices, then they kind of end up having to face the problem. There'll always be other customers, but a letter from the city/state/county employment office would probably be more effective...so write to them, too, asking about the problem. Talk to your city council, too. They're smart people, probably trying to figure this whole mess out.
Illegal immigration is a big problem, a BIG problem. MILLIONS big.
Fixing it will require more than changing your dining choices...

Better yet, Boycott companies who specifically cater to people who don't speak English.
Number one Offender, IMHO, is B of A, where they are happy to steal your money in any language you choose.
Yeah right, deport all of the illegal immigrants. HA! It will never happen, too much money at stake. How many of you (or your parents) are profiting daily from low wage workers? And all you hear anywhere is "It is impossible to find good help these days (which is why we hire immigrants)" when it should be "It is impossible to support myself with the ridiculous wages (that many illegals only dream of)", Unless, of course, I'm willing to share a room with 5 or 6 people, two dogs and a chicken, in the clapboard house by the tracks.
Here in So Cal, all or nearly all, of the non-management employees of : fast food restaurants, car washes, landscapers, gardeners, carpenters, stucco and drywallers, trucking companies, and any other "blue Collar" job you can think of, are Hispanic. And if you think us crackers are racist and unfair, just try to be the only person on a crew who doesn't speak Spanish.
I just can't figure out where everyone else works.

I bet the restaurants that you will have to choose from will be a lot more expensive than those that hire undocumented workers. But hey its your money. Most Americans however will take the cheaper products regardless of the politics involved.
And to answer your questions. No I will not boycott companies that hire undocumented workers. However I doubt your supporters will either. So far I haven't seen a single anti-immigrant group protesting "illegal" immigration. I guess they're not that dedicated.

Not an easy task, but, I support you. A better protest would be , any Representative in Government that does not enforce the laws we have should be voted out of office. Starting from Mayors and council, all the way up to and including the President.
I really believe we need a posted list of companies that have this practice of hiring illegals. One must make sure that it is not just a local issue not supported by a corporation. I think that is more likely happening in some of the companies mentioned. We have laws already to stop this. it starts at the border, protect us and keep us secure first. Enforce our laws we already have.

How do you verify that a company hires illegal aliens? Do you just go up to the manager and ask? Do you ask the waiter for his green card? I bet you just look for people who look or sound foreign and assume.
Most employers wouldn't even know if their own workers are illegal because they use them fake papers that look real. Even if the employer calls immigration to check, they probably will not get a response.
Even if the businesses are verifiably hiring illegal workers, and that fact is reported, immigration does not have the manpower and time to go running everytime someone makes a report.
I looked at the website and I can tell you as an immigration attorney, it is based on inaccurate information and common mistaken perceptions. For example, two colleges were reported for admitting students who are illegal immigrants. It is not against any law to admit them as long as they pay the tuition.
People should really get their facts straight before they go running in meaningless directions.

Well im sure there are alot of companies that hire illegals. I think that the law should take care of this and fine & shut down these businesses. Course they havent done this as of yet & there are alot of businesses that work ppl under the table like landscaping companies and farmers (fruit and veggie pickers) so yes i will boycott them because enuf is enuf. Do something for your country and be an american..........Flo P.S. I was in a court of law about a year ago and a case came up a.lady that had shop lifted something from a store and she had to have an interpretor. The judge asked her if she was in this country legally and she said she had no green card and the judge said well im not turning you in because when i send illegals to the INS they get mad at me !!!!! So there you go the damn judges won't do anything.

Dang! I agree that people need to be legal to work in America. I also believe that in order to work in America you need to be able to speak American. However, YOU do not know why they are here. It could very well be a situation that THEY had no control over. I think education is the key. Closing boarders will be a key as well. While we are bashing immigrants has anyone thought that as least they WILL work. Americans are some of the laziest people on earth. If Americans would do what is necessary to earn a dollar instead of living off welfare, cause they can, then there probably wouldn't be as many jobs for the immigrants to have. I am more concerned about the lazy *** people who can work but don't. Hey Lady- whats your pinion about welfare suckers? Lets boy cot them too. Lets not sell anything to them cause they are using government money to spend and they didn't earn it- HELL YEAH lets boycott them too!!!! You better be a perfect human being for all the crap you sling!

No, I won't. Most of the illegal workers in the States are doing jobs that Americans "think" they are too good for. And let's not forget that most of us descend from people who themselves felt "entitled" to come in and take over a country and kill the local people and ruin the natural beauty that was here.
