Yes it works for me. The problem is finding the time to do it and learning how to drown everything out around you. It's very hard to do especially if you have children or live in a big crazy city that produces noise 24/7. I do it when I can but have been practicing it for about 10 years now. When I practiced yoga and combined meditation with it I noticed that my demeanor remained calm and peaceful for the most part but at that time I lived in a smaller city where all the stress I had was mostly work related. 5 years ago I moved to CA and I have not been able to achieve the same results since. Your environment effects you more than you realize and the more population around you is not good. It's harder to meditate when you have so much stimuli.

Yes, it does work.
There are different types of meditation.
Some use what is called a Mantra. Where you concentrate on a set of words or sounds to lull you into a meditative state. Many people believe though that you are trapped into those words or sounds and it limits your results.
The best success I had was just to relax in a dark quiet setting, not tv, radio, etc. of course.
Concentrate on your breathing. Just your breathing and you will start meditating.
It could last 5 minutes or four hours. I usually do 20-30 minutes. Sometimes longer. But time almost doesn't matter when you are meditating. You are connected to the "lifeforce" of being, I like to say. It makes you connected, relaxes and clears your mind.
Give it a try!

The whole aim of meditation is,
1. to calm your mind, and
2. to focus the mind on one thing.
The mind of a normal person is like an uncontrolled monkey jumping from one thought to another. To process all these thoughts a lot of body energy is used. Thus if your mind cease to process thoughts you will be saving a lot of body energy which can be used to cure a lot of ailments in your body. That is why a person who continues to meditate regularly even gets a nice body complexion.
Meditation helps you to stay healthy. You can get some guidance from the following sites.

Yes it does. it helps clear the mind and realign the thought patterns. Some times you just have to many things thrown at you at one time and meditation is a great way to put things in order. i still do it quite often.

Yes it does . however there are two typs of medatation. one is from the far eastern countries where they are taught to think of them selves as nothing.and their meditations are a refelctioof this idea as they try to block out all thought s to become one with thier idea of GOD.
The western one is more dynamic as we have to be doing something even if only with our minds.so ours tend to be more like vison quests or astral travel. where we try and go someplace.
Yes I did for several years. at least once a day. more sense of peace and understanding.

Meditation is not anything about spiritual or anything. It is phsycological. By meditating, a person forgets his/her problems and calms down in quiet serenity. So, it helps someone calm down.
