We are told to read the Koran in its original format arabic so to avoid any "TRANSLATIONS" Mistakes. We do have the original Quran only one from the main source Prophet Mohammed. Through how many translations and laguages has your text gone through.... ??? GO STUDY and come back to answer

Scholars list between 200,000 and 400,000 different versions of the ancient texts, if that gives you an idea of the scope of the number you are looking for. Its like the hanging chad problem in Florida, it depends upon how you count them. This leads to a terrible problem, there are more variant passages in the New Testament alone than there are words in the New Testament. Because no one knows with a high degree of certainty which passages were original and which became altered over time, you can get substantial variation in the same passages from "version" to "version."

There are a number of problems with translation but one of the largest is determining passages. For example, we have quotes from scriptures much earlier than any copy of scriptures we have written by a group of people commonly called the "fathers." The earliest fathers were Ignatius, Clement and Polycarp who knew the apostles and were ordained by them, to later ones like Anthanasius. They write quotes from the bibles they have in front of them and they do not match our bibles necessarily.

In addition, scripture has been translated into the vernacular languages since the first century. The earliest translations into English we have are from the 8th century. We only know the names of three translators, Bede, Caedmon, and Adlebart (I think that is his name), the rest are anonymous. Luther translated the 97th German version.

There cannot be a list, there can be a computer database, but no list.

I have about 40 on my computer. They all say basically the same thing. Compare all your versions with the King James and the New King James. They stick closest to the earleist manusciptsa we have. There are some that just completely change everything just because they want the bible to conform to their particular philosophy. Again, if you compare them to the KJV or the NKJV you'll see that these are not the more accurate ones but just someones own personal re-write and you can stay away from that version. But most of them say exactly the same thing, only in a different way.

depends what language you want it in. The King James Version of the Bible (most common with both old and new testament) is printed in over 50 languages. There are also older versions and in different languages. But are you solely talking about the Christian bible or are you including the Torra or the Kuran? If you are including those bibles of different religions, then the number is going to be well in the hundreds.

Who knows, every printing has some mistakes, omissions and additions. But i think the Catholic bible is the closest to the original scriptures, since its only been about 40 years since they translated it from Latin

Not sure how many exist, but there are still hundreds of languages without a Bible. The links below may help.

Only one.
the KJ BIBLE.
all others are copycatted or false.

when you have one original, and you copy it over and over again on a machine for example sooner or later the copies(fakes) are soo distorted that the original masterpiece is almost undesirable and so it is with anyone that takes or add to the holy bible.

I've found several English translations of the Koran that don't match. What does that tell you?

www.Biblegateway.com has a fairly exhaustive listing. However, when you step away from the King James Version, you take a chance on stepping away from the way God and Christ intended for the masses of people to read it. *my opinion
