1 carbon...and 1/2 O2..
because oxygen is a gas.. so it must use 2 just like H2 is hydrogen... N2 is for nitrogen..
so it will be 1 C + 1/2 O2 --> CO2...

DI- meaning 2 and oxide is another word for oxygen. so that is carbon dioxide 1 carbon and 2 oxygen
