Kongs toys are the best!!!
Guaranteed if ya' puppy needs surgery due to any probs' related to the Kong...Kong will pay for all vet bills!!! Kong is also one, if not only (???) toy to show up in an X-ray!!! Being the proud Grandmother of an APBT I know this is the only brand of toys we buy for my Grand dog. Can fill 'em with treats to make 'em more enticing to ya' puppy. Come in diff' degrees of strengths and, sizes designed exactly for ya' breed/size of puppy.
Lil' higher $$$ but, well worth cost...
...Whats ya' puppy's life worth???
NEVER rawhide!!!
After reading some prior answers...Seen items such as old socks, old shoes...All this will do is encourage ya' puppy to CONTINUE to chew on those items, forever!!!

Kong, who makes those Almost Indestructible rubber toys, now makes Ziggies specially for puppies. There aren't a lot of puppy products out there, so we were glad to see these. With Kong products, the toy is hollow, and you squirt peanut butter paste in there, or stick a Ziggie in there. The puppy or dog has a ball gnawing on the toy, AND getting the treat to slowly come out. They have them in all sizes, too. This keeps them entertained and teaches them to gnaw the toy, not your favorite boots. The toy rewards them with a treat, instead of the boots rewarding them with a swat or upset stomach.
Please don't give the puppy cooked bones of any kind. They splinter and can get caught in his throat or pierce his stomach.
As for un-ideal objects, the puppy will probably also chew your shoes, furniture, purse, books, and anything you leave laying on the floor. Watch him around electric cords, too.
At our rescue shelter, we keep the puppies in a confined area, with some "sacrifical" shoes along with the Kong toys. If you keep your pup in the house, please keep an eye on him. After all, they are babies, and they can really get into trouble.
Hope this helps. The big pet stores carry aisles full of Kong stuff, and it's the safest product we've found.

Depends. If you're talking about a puppy that is teething here's what we did. Take washcloths wet them, roll them up longways and freeze them, They're cheap, easy, the cold will help with the teething, and really, who cares if they tear up a washcloth, You can get a 12 pack of white ones for like 4 bucks.

We went out & bought some toys but they can be very expensive. We did take old socks & tie knots in them. They liked them the best. Good luck, Becky

LOL!! Anything that will fit in their mouths!
For the best, get a rawhide chew toy; it may save your shoes and furniture.

pretty much anything. if they cant chew on it...they'll dig at it.
If youre looking to get your puppy a chew toy...most good pet shops will carry "Nylabone" or "Kong" brand toys or pressed rawhide...never use "regular" rawhide as dogs can swallow and choke on pieces of it.
