Basically you will do as much office work as they can throw at you. Usually answering phones, working with appointment calendars, creating spread sheets, and filing. It can lead to a real job in whatever type of company you work at, but initially it pays crap. If you have no experience with excel or powerpoint, or no office job experience you will probably have to take an internship, or maybe data-entry or customer service.

Well, you have to be organized, multitask-er, know it all, do it all, curios and discreet, professional looks, sharp dresser, nice voice, command personality, an accountant, a manager without that many perks, neat, etc. You may be in charge of the CEO, or anybody other higher ranking officer or manager, they expect you to look into his personal dealings such as medical appointments, bill paying, personal reminders etc. You do not get too much typing these days, a lot of on line research, travel and restaurant reservations, and besides all this, you may be in charge of filing, working with HR, Accounting and providers,,,
it is a diverse activity and if you create a good rapport with your staff, very enjoyable! Now days, the pay is good if you speak other language and if you have college...great jobs out there! Mine is....! I noticed you are getting into the Medical field....that is the way to go, medical, research, banking, finance, telecomunciations, any body with good admin skills can make aprox from 40 to 60k,,,,true!
