Good question, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the answers..Especially from a Catholic or two.
The origional Ten Commandments state that the seventh day is the Sabbath, not any day we feel like it. Sure, you can worship and rest any day..But God set aside a specific day so that, no matter what's going on, we had a chance to relax and refocus on Him. Humans don't have the true power to change what day God set aside.
Blessings And Love
EDIT
In responce to the fact Jesus was ressurected on a Sunday, no where does Jesus tell us to set aside Sundays instead. The 'reason' he was ressurected on a Sunday was because he rested through the Sabbath (Saturday), respectfully.

The Apostles of the early Christian Church filled with the Holy Spirit changed the Lord's Day from the Sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday.
Christians believe that Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses. Therefore Christians are not held to the ceremonial parts of the Mosaic Law concerning of dietary purity and temple worship.
Christians are held to the moral law of God, some of which is expressed in the Ten Commandments.
The first Christians were Jews. They went to temple or synagogue on the Sabbath (Saturday) with fellow Jews.
Then they gathered on the first day of the week, the day on which Jesus rose from the dead (Sunday), with fellow Christians to tell stories of Jesus and share Eucharist.
Later Gentiles joined Christianity. The Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, decided that the Gentiles did not have to covert to Judaism to become Christians. Therefore, they only attended on Sundays and did not have to abide by Jewish dietary laws.
Christians believe that Jesus' Resurrection has changed the Lord's Day to Sunday.
This has been the practice ever since.
With love in Christ.

Don't know, but it is said that the Sabbath was Saturday which would be the 7th day. But the Catholic Church made Sunday the official 7th day. So they would put Saturday behind. It is Roman Catholic religion's fault. It is a very corruptive one. Blame it for all the mess going on.

They changed the day to spite God. The catholic religion is very flawed. I do believe that there are many good catholics going to heaven. But the doctorine is extremely incorrect. Why else is the vatican holding all this priceless knowledge hostage, and unwilling to share it with the world!!!???
