I think the reality is when a person dies they are buried in the ground and thats it. But I also believe that technology will one day overcome all of our problems. Humanity will learn to actually help itself. We are learning to ressusitate patients after longer periods of flatline with less brain damage it seems. There are science fiction examples such as bruce willis' movie "the fifth element" (cool flick btw) where they regenerated a womans body with only a finger with what was left for remains. We are doing things like taking the mummy of king tut and scanning it through an M.R.I...could this be the beginning of the resurrection or "after life" that the ancient eqyptians believed in so whole heartedly? I say yes it can. why not? the things people believed couldnt happen 50 years ago, today, are a reality. they said the wright brothers couldnt fly...the computer could never fit on a desk by 2000...I say think big...many people believe "heaven" is here on earth. I might agree. Is "heaven" actually the safe "haven" we call America? or the Allied Forces nations? maybe...
Maybe were at the dawn of a new age. Interesting question. What happens if you die? Your question is interesting twofold. If the person in question died with a "proper christian burial", and technology actually does overcome death even unto the corpse, then the "christian" who was buried would actually be revived at sometime in a future world that may truly be divine. Yet, the "non-christian" who may have been creamated for example may not be as lucky. Theres no remains therefore theres no genetic material for regeneration. Theres many philosophies in this regaurd. was the woman in the fifth element reallly the same woman i.e. in posession of the same "soul" or "life energy"...even "fingerprint" of the woman who lost the fingerprint or just a copy?...I suspect that technology will give us these answers as well...maybe there is a life force that we actually loose at death. maybe there are phenomenum that we do not have the answers to as of yet. I believe we must, as we do, keep striving for answers. The truth is out there. its up to us to find it. When facts are tied together in a mystery there is a sense of closure and the resolution of the case. From a dectives point of view, the dective would feel they have found sufficient proof and call the case closed. Things on this subject seem to tie together. I can see the "light" at the end of the tunnel. Very dim...yet very real. I've read where people of science dealing in paranormal phenomenon known as ectoplasm (the residue or even the actual spirit or ghost itself) as they deal with containing samples (ironicly like the movie ghostbusters w/ bill murrey...cool flick as well..) and how they use freezers and vibrations such as music etc to contain this unstable material. Can you see the light? If we can tie in the ideas of technological resurrection w/ exostential phenomena such as ectoplasmic residues and or electromagnetic field responses, this detective would then get ready to call it "case closed". I think you could use the "jesus" context as well. Since jesus was resussitated after death (we know this through scientific means) one could almost effectively say the only way is through him, because it was resussitation that dead were and are being brought back to life...I dont think we should deal w/ the "whys" as much as the "what are we going to do about its".
Einstein said: "I grope" in context he was meaning he "gropes" for answers. We too are as blind children groping for an answer...a way out..I believe we must continue to "grope" for answers. No one is going to do it for us. One step at a time. One thing leads to another. We have the potential for greatness. It's completely up to us. We have taken a step....I believe in the right direction. let's continue to do so. If we do, it's only a question of time. I believe the bible said something about "heaven" saying...we can not let them continue or they will become greater than us. it was talking about the tower of babel and the changing of the language of humanity. Maybe we can do that. Maybe we have it within ourselves to become as great as we desire. Keep the faith.

Probably not a Christian heaven, but it all depends on what you believe heaven to be. For Christians, heaven is reached by believing that God came down to Earth, lived as a human for awhile, suffered incredible hardships, and decided that being human isnt so easy, so He would forgive all of our sins as long as we acknowledged that He came down and did this for us. If you don't believe this, then you may not be able to get into a Christian heaven. However, if you are not Christian, and believe in heaven as a place where all spirits go after they die, then I suppose it is at your discretion as to what makes a person "worthy". Bottom line is, we wont really know till we get there. I personally feel that what people call a conscience is actually Jesus letting me know the difference between right and wrong, and if something feels morally wrong, it's probably not the kind of thing that's gonna get me into heaven. So as Jimminy Cricket would say, always let your conscience be your guide.

Here's my philosophy (assuming there IS a heaven): You are much more likely to go to heaven being a good person, though not a religious person than someone who plants their butt in Church every Sunday, and then proceeds to be one of the most hateful people to ever walk the Earth. I'd like to think that if there was any justice in this universe, you would go to heaven.

And don't listen to any of the religious nuttos that will tell you that you're going to burn in the fiery flames of hell. Because: 1) They're not God and they don't know. And 2) It's ALWAYS ALWAYS better just to be a good person...religion changes, doctrine changes, but how you are as a person is what matters most.

There are many paths to heaven, you don't have to be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist. It doesn't matter.
Now it also depends on your definition of heaven. Nobody knows for sure what will happen because we haven't died yet.
Don't be scared into thinking you can't enjoy your life now. You can make your current life better, more fun and heavenlike if you choose. Be a good person, but don't let Christianity or anything else intimidate you!

Well, a satanist could be considered spiritual, so we need a better definition of who is considered justified by God. The Bible says in John 14 and in 1 Timothy 2 that Jesus is the only way to get to God. So if by definition a Christian is someone who believes in Jesus, then your answer is no. Jesus is the only person who has satisfied God's demand for a perfect life, so Jesus must be our mediator between us and God. There is no such thing as being "good" unless our sins are forgiven, and the only way our sins are forgiven is through Jesus.

Jesus is the only way into heaven, If you believe in heaven you must surely believe in God. Why not serve Him?

People tend to think if they do they will be under many laws of God- But Jesus set you free of those if you will accept it. Unless you do you will be judged by all those laws that no one could ever follow. So why not let Him bless you, all He wants is for you to start talking to Him and reading a Bible so He can teach you things.

Blessings to you, Daddy loves you let Him prove it to you.

If a person is good enough, they will eventually go to heaven.

1 John 2: 1. My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
