I am an atheist and quite fascinated by all those who claim they know God exists. And, would like for them to tell me all about him based on their personal knowledge of him.

I am not asking about his motives or his emotions, I am asking what he looks like to you.

I have read the bible.
The bible claims he walked around with Adam & Eve, and humans are "designed" in his image. Indicating he is human and has physical presence and appearance.
But, most of you are avoiding the question and offering me rather oblique answers.
God is "good feelings" or is "everywhere?"
Hmm....

IF you can't describe him, on what basis are you claiming he exists? Or, that he is a "he" at all?

The Jesus story claims Jesus is in heaven "in the flesh" (as is Mary in the Catholic version).
How can that be if God has no presence?

To Rabidbuny:
I signed over the rights to smite people to Pat Robertson. The contract expires October 1, but you'll have to send me a love gift $$$ before I can smite people.
It's a union thing, you know how those unions are.

To puebla,
Nice story but way beyond what I asked.
Doesn't matter what I believe, if you believe it, that's all that matters.

we can't describe the appearance of a being who has no appearance, and likewise we cannot describe the characteristics of a being who is everything.
EDIT
G-d never "walked through the garden of eden with adam and eve" and he is not a "he" either. nobody ever believed this. anybody who knows anything about the hebrew bible and ancient hebrew beliefs knows that whenever G-d is given is given physical attributes its nothing more than a metaphor. christians are the only people who believe that G-d is male. just as they are the only ones who believe G-d looks like a human. jews find this particular belief funny.

Muslims believe that God is indescribable when it comes to appearance.
But we believe that when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was carried up to heaven by Gabriel, he met God and when he returned to Earth people asked him.... what did God look like?? He wasn't able to find the words to describe God except that God had the qualities of complete perfection and that there was a light shining so brightly.
So for us.. God doesn't have a physical appearance that we can describe. But God's existence is evident in everything we see around us that's why we have faith in God. For example, just look at yourself, your own body, as simple as that. Can something built so sophisticatedly just appear out of nowhere? Each cell in your body works like a city on its own.
And ok, so you might ask.. if God really exists, why does He let bad things happen? Because that's life! This life is meant to be a test. If you pass this test, you'll get a good afterlife (in simple terms).
Hope that was okay :)

God is all powerful. An all-powerful being has no limits. A physical body is a limit. Thus, God is Spirit, not body. Answer: God, though a Person in every sense that matters, has no appearace "the same way as a person".

I doubt anyone alive has seen God. The closest thing I have experienced as to actual evidence that God exists is a miracle healing. Verified by a medical doctor and captured on x-ray. I believe that since we have been created in his image that he will be similar to us in appearance.

Well, I figure he's an older gentleman, with a friendly looking face, gray hair, and a gray beard...wait a minute, you're Him! Jehovah, you old trickster, you! Now, could you please smite all the unbelievers and blasphemers so I can set about watching them roast in Hell's flames forever and ever with a smug, self-righteous grin on my face? You know, cause I'll know that they brought it on themselves by not believing in your outlandish, impossible, 2,000 year old book that's been translated umpteen times. Thanks!

God is perfect, holy, righteous, unchanging, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Since he is not a man like you and me, we can't really describe him using the same terms you would describe a human being.

My idea of God is the physical Universe itself. It has been around forever and we have evolved from it. Pretty sweet.
