does anyone have an idea how to do this for free and fastest most effective way to do this i tried renting books and tapes from the library but didnt real help thanks if you can help

to learn it free is going to be tricky. but you can always go to an online translator and type in an english phrase and translate into spanish and teach yourself that way. you can check out these sites.. not sure exaclt how useful these are but hopefully they will help:

You need to be able to interact with others so you will retain what you learn. Immerse yourself in the culture to the extent that you can where you are at. If you have cable/satellite tv, check out Spanish speaking programming and get some more tapes/books from the library -- surround yourself with people who speak Spanish if possible. Sometimes it is easier to read it than speak it, but if you make a choice to only speak it during certain hours of the day (your busiest you time hours), hopefully you will catch on. Maybe you know people who speak it who would be willing to assist. Watch out for the pranks, though.

Hang out with Spanish speakers as much as possible, learn enough from a book first so you´ll know how to ask questions like:
What does that mean?
Is a car masculine or feminine?
Also, Spanish Movies and TV subtitles in your native language are helpful and entertaining.

There is no truely fast way to learn to speak Espanol. Living in the country amongst the people is the best. Beyond that, taking a course in Beginning One at your local college is next best. It sounds like you want to speak it faster than that. Good luck.

well the fastest way honestly is to move to that country and live there for six months. you get total emersion and you have to learn in order to function and fit in. your brain works overtime to make you learn so that you are not outcast. but minus that go to a community college and take a class the instructor will add a good dimension to your learning
