Don't go with anything too obvious like lasagna or spaghetti. Try something exotic. For example, eels are a very popular food in Italy and are a traditional Christmas food.

Spaghetti is is one of the EASIEST things to cook. Just boil some noodles until soft, brown some ground beef in a frying pan and pour Prego (or some other type of ready yet rich spaghetti sauce) over your meat and BOOM! You got spaghetti w/ meat sauce. Personally I like to cut up some Italian sausages rather than use ground beef but, since you're starting out you should probably go w/ the ground beef.

Well, the obvious pasta. But also, something special to Italians on Christmas, Panettoni, a dried fruity coffee cake. They also have their special gelato ice cream. Olive oil should figure in your project, fresh arugula (a salad green) sprinkled with olive oil is an idea. Cheeses, especially Mozzarella and Parmigiano Reggiano, but please not the canned already grated one, it should be bulk of fresh cheese. Prosciutto Di Parma (from Parma), a kind of delicacy ham.

Refrigerate lasagna and reserved 1/2 cup mushrooms separately. Let

and continue baking until bubbling and cheese melts, about 20 minutes.
Arrange reserved 1 cup mushrooms, tomato and 2 teaspoons rosemary
