I know enough to know a Skyline GT R-34 engine cranks 500bhp and 399ft lbs torque... The cars are nothing alike. We are talking about a Skyline engine which also has a liter or more over the 240sx. Bigger engine period.

And before someone asks.

twin turbo
inline 6
3.4 liter
4 wheel drive
6 speed trans

I'm guessing i will have to re-enforce the body, 399 ft lbs torque isn't a semi but ill bet it could drag an rv..lol

I'm sure there's a lot on this topic. Do an internet search on the subject. The Skyline is basically the same car (i.e. the Euro version Skyline and the US version 240SX). There shouldn't be too much to change to the Skyline engine to work in the 240SX. Are you sure the engines are not basically the same? If so, you might save money by upgrading the performance of the 240SX instead.

Check this out.

1) You mean 2.6 liters and I'm assuming you want the RB26DETT.

2) the 500 bhp and 399 lbs of torque you're talking about is the Nismo Z Tuned R34 GTR. They only made 20 of those. the stock R34 GTR is nowhere near that.

3) here's a link to do an engine swap on the 240SX with a R32 or R33 engine. keep in mind they used a GTS engine and not the GTR's.

4) part of the whole mystique of a Skyline is not just the RB26DETT engine but the ATTESSA all wheel drive system on it. i'm not sure if you could swap that into a 240SX

5) if you got the money to do all this. Best of luck to you cuz you'll have one screaming 240.

Start with the very best parts and technology you can spend two or three years getting all the technical experience doing engine with computer swaps. Run into lots of problems making the steering work left hand drive VS right hand drive front drive clearance problems. Buy stronger rear end out of 350Z stronger drive shaft better Skyline transmission. After 8 to 10 thousand dollars and 1,000's of man hours... Your not doing this on a car you drive are you? States with emissions controls will not inspect this car no EGR No converters and Modifications that make more smog. After that Grim assessment! you will still have a 20 year old technology car that never handled as good as the new 350Z with 300 H.P. smog ready and 50 state legal and factory warranty. A better platform for supercharger and twin turbos. STILLEN DOT COM

It can be done, but it isnt easy or cheap. First the cost alone to do it is rediculous and second there are issues with fitting the RB26 into the 240, but it has been done so its not impossible. As for swapping in the RB25 or the RB20 this is an easier way to go and more cost effective. Personally I would go with the classic SR20 for a swap, it costs so much less.
