I have been off and on (mostly OFF) with this guy for 2 1/2 years. He has been dropping the word marriage (kind of randomly) for about 6 months now. I always just laugh it off. It's because I really don't know how serious he is about it. At this point, he knows he doesn't have to dangle the marriage carrot in order for me to be interested in him or have sex with him. When we are together (which is rare by the way) he always mentions me marrying him. How do I know that he really means it, when otherwise we are not even in a committed relationship. Men, PLEASE help me. SHould I wait awhile for him, or start dating other men (I am currently not dating)

Maybe, but I think most men are more afraid of the "M" word and wouldn't say it even if they wanted to marry someone. :)

Is he seeing someone else, or already married? If so, don't believe him.

Don't be too sure when you say he knows he doesn't have to dangle the marriage carrot. Sounds like he just wants a booty call now and then. Get out while you still can. Why would he want to mary you when he has all the fun with none of the commitment now?

It is time to get off the stool. Tell him either marry me or you will move on. Too many people in this world god with the internet u can order a husband to go. Get a guy with a good job. and the virtues u want don't waste time for time is something we don't have much of.

i'm a 27 year old guy,

No i would not mention marriage to a girl unless i honestly was interested.

From what your writing, it sounds like your guy, if your rarely together and have been mostly not together for 2.5 years, it doesn't sound very serious,

What are you going to getr married and then see each other (rarley0

I'd just ask him 9are you serious about us getting married, if he says yes, Then i think you guys need to be spending more time together

It's your call, But it seems he throws it out as a carrot regardless if you bite it or not. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? are you ready to settle down with him? Or do you just like the sex & the fact that he mentions marriage every time you see him? How many other men do you know throw out marriage? I'm 28 & I don't throw it out like that & niether do my friends my age.

personally,
i think the sex should come first.
all the naysayers and marriage firstanistas dont know the real power of sex. neither do i, since im a loser virgin.
so, if u can sleep with him. then i suggest u do so, seduce him first by the way. and do a little striptease.
good luck!

Are far as his intentions go...I have no clue.

But, unless there has been a discussion about being exclusive...what are you waiting for.

If you want to date...date.

Date away. If he wants you, he will come around after hearing about your dates.
