Berwick, Nova Scotia is a WONDERFUL town! We are from the US but my family has owned a cottage near there since 1969. It is one of my favorite towns in the whole world.

It is in the Annapolis Valley part of Nova Scotia, with easy access to the Bay of Fundy and within a reasonable drive to Halifax. The downtown is walkable and the people are wonderful.

As far as jobs, that is something you will need to research. If you really love a place, you will figure out a way to live there -- think about what skills you can offer to the community and what living standard you really need.

Personally, I would move there in a heartbeat. I have included a lot of website links so that you can poke around the town and see the types of activities there are. It is a WONDERFUL town full of great people.

Woodstock Ontario, they are building a very large Toyota plant, it is a 30 minute trip to London, 45 to Kitchener-Waterloo and a 1 hour drive to Toronto, it has good schools, shopping and is relatively safe as far as small towns go, there is good housing and it has small town charm and still enough to keep you busy, if not there then Simcoe Ontario, it is small 20 minutes from the beach at Lake Erie, and like Woodstock hjas everthing you need and is located on a main highway (3 & 24) to get you to the larger centers quickly.

Brandon Manitoba: Has it's own hospital, police force both city and RCMP, university campus, community college, it has it's own rodeo every year, it has about 18 schools throughout, several community parks and 4 outside city limits, it is a very small city and has a lot of diversified employment opportunities. Population of about 25,00-30,000 ( not quite sure but know it's within that range)
Employment can range from farming, construction sites and lots of them, malls, restaurants, factory work, hog farms, cleaning jobs or maid service jobs, janitorial work, harvest work for potato farmers, many others but can't think at present.

Portage La Prairie: has it's own hospital, police service, Trans Canada highway runs right through the main drag, about 15,00 - 20,00 population.

Both are medium size, very friendly,( www.brandonmanitoba.ca )

In Saskatchewan there's Estevan population with what your looking for. Also Yorkton is about the same size and a very nice community for a small city.

If ur looking for a place that is central to many locations, Smiths Falls Ontario, would be a good start. visit their website:
www.town.smiths-falls.on.ca
Good luck! All the details and information ur looking for should be there. If not interested in Smiths-Falls; look in the Calgary/Edmonton areas. Lots of job opportunities out there.

10000,00 people?
sur there are lots however.you need to consider that employment opportunities would be difficult, because of the small population...most smaller towns have now become, empty because there is no work
Ok so Nelson BC-CastlegarBC- Hope BC-all these are for reasonable weather
there are many in Ontario too
you need to be more specific , like ( what is your intention)
you for sure need a bigger place if you want to work..

There are quite a few places like that in Manitoba. Try something like Brandon, or Winkler, which is developping quite rapidly. Or there's Portage la Prarie. None of them are far from Winnipeg, which is the capital city, but yet still under a million people living there.

I suppose it depends on what type of job you are looking for....most of Western Canada is riddled with medium size towns, so information about type of employment, lifestyle etc. would be helpful.
