No you are not "kind of married" at all. The marriage license must be signed by the person officiating the ceremony before it is valid. Marriage license has a expiration date. So if you are not married by the expiration date then it will not be valid.

No, the marriage license is permission from the government to go ahead and get married. The license will simply expire if gone unused.

no you are not married until you sign the licences and they are witnessed. They then get send to the national registrar so you become a registered married cple. If you haven't got that far then you don't need to worry. I am sorry it didn't work out, this must be a hard time for you. :(

Until it is signed by the official that performed the ceremony and filed with the clerk of the county, it is just a piece of paper that says you intend to get married.... not that you are married.

Nope! You have to take the vows in front of someone qualified who can validate the license. Otherwise it was just a close relationship with no legal or moral ties.

No you have to do the whole priest/minster thing... it's like holding a title to a car without the signature.... Hope it all works out for the best either way you go :)

I'm guessing it means that you are now the proud owner of a very expensive meaningless piece of paper?
