I believe the most effective and efficient way is to imitate Christ's method. He didn't stand on the street corner or go door to door. He developed relationships with people. Through those relationships He found many became receptive. Door to door without a relationship seldom produces fruit. Forming relationships and then presenting the Gospel as you present yourself a living sacrifice is much more effective. And those types of conversions most times "stick".

The most effective and efficient way to spread the good news of Jesus Christ is to lead by a life of example. To do everything that you know is right in the eyes of Jesus Christ. Your actions speak much louder that your words. For example, if you are trying to witness to a person that just saw you stop at the local liquor store and walk out with a forty, I don't think they would be acceptable to what you had to say. People need to physically see Christ living in you, not just hear you talk about him.

Show you are really good people. Really help the poor in the world for a change. How can you accept there are millions of people dying every year in Africa because of malnutrition, lack of water and/or diseases that can easily be cured? The USA gives least of it's money (GNP) from almost all developed countries to the poor in the world, while only about 13% of all Americans is "non-religious" (most of the majority even call themselves christians in some way).
Poverty can be used as a feeding ground for extremists and even international terrorists to get a lot of folks behind them. You will harvest what you plant.

The way not to do is: Door to door (SLAM!!!) and
don't threaten me with your hell or the judgments of your gods. This is so pathetic, belittling, diminishing and most of all insulting.

By being a living example of the teachings of Christ. If you preach about Christ, but act like a jerk, you lose more than you gain. Not even door-to-door can save your cause.

let your life be an open Bible to someone...nothing speaks of the love of JESUS CHRIST more than servitude to others...we are to love each other as Christ hath loved us...when we put legs on our love and go to people in love, then there will be no doubt about the ONE we serve.

Tell the good news. Door to door, out in the streets, whenever you get the opportunity. Use the Bible, and show the hope it holds out, the wonderful advice it gives, and the help it can give us in this system.
