No, it's never too late. As long as you are healthy, almost anyone at any age can have braces. I had a patient when I was in dental school who was in her 70's when she had braces. I have one in my practice not who was in her late 60's when she got braces.
16? You're still a puppy.

NO, it is never too late to get braces. The only problem with leaving it until you are older is that it will take a bit longer for your teeth to move than if you had it when you are younger. 16 is still young anyway.

No it's not. I'm 17 and I should be getting braces in a few months. Some of my bottom teeth are not straight (there's this one tooth of mine that is really out of line). It's better to have straight teeth because my dentist says that crooked teeth makes it easier to develop gum disease because food and plaque gets trapped more easily in between crooked teeth and it's harder to clean those areas too.

no it isn't i had braces from 15 till i was 17 but i recently went to the orthodontist for a checkup on my permanent retainer and there was a woman well into her 50 getting braces. but i think that the older you are the longer you have to keep them.
but you are definitly not too old.

Better to get them at 16. So when you get out of High school, you look hot in college.
