Elaborate, please. How does the world appear intelligently designed? Things may appear to have some higher power directing them, but that could just be because we want to see it that way.
I actually believe that there is an intelligent being that created things, but evolution can easily make sense along with that. It would disprove the idea of "intelligence" for said being if he/she/it decided to suddenly surprise all living creatures by their babies looking completely different from themselves, or by a new, somewhat dangerous species (humans) suddenly appearing.
Intelligent design, as they are hoping to have it taught in science classes, would have to teach that the world began on the equivalent of April 1, 2000bc. This is because this is when the Bible, mathematically, shows the world beginning. However, we have scientific proof that the world began millions upon millions of years before this.
Intelligent design, as a theory, is illogical. However, there is a logical way to connect an intelligent being with evolution. Although said intelligent being should not be brought into a science class, as it cannot be scientifically proven exactly WHAT said being is, it is legitimate to believe in both. Many scientists and science teachers do.

because you can't fool mother nature. our world seems intelligently designed to us because this is all we know. this is what we are used to and have been taught is normal from childhood. i think the process of natural selection is the intelligent design. if God made man in his own image why do we not look like the first humans that evolved. or do you believe God looks like primitive man? evolution is the intelligent design because man has spent most of his time trying to make it make sense so that there are explanations for everything unknown. primitive man did not have the knowledge to discover why the sun shines in the day and the moon at night. he puzzled over where we came from and why we are here. the easiest explanation for them was a supernatural being that created everything and controls the things that happen in our day to day lives.

Is the Universe intelligently designed? What would it look like if it was unintelligently designed? Would planets be square-shaped and stars wear hats. This Universe is all we know. We have nothing to compare it to. To say it is this way because of God is totally irrational. It could perfectly well have randomly formed over eons. There is no way you can prove it couldn't.

Perhaps both intelligent design (by what?) and evolution could both be true. Something would have had to set everything in motion and it went from there (evolution).

No matter what side of the argument people are on, what and how it appears to be is only what you want to believe it is.
If you believe it had a creator, you say wow look at this, look how it was created that it all came together to form this!
If you don't believe in creators and it came together on it's own, you say wow look at this, look how it all came together on it's own to form this!
Easy to see how either view can fit...

Evolution isn't true, it is a theory thought up by scientists because they have to have physical proof of everything, they don't have FAITH, or believe in God.

That's precisely the question that stumps all the big brains that tout evolution. That, as well as "When did it all begin? How did the Universe go from nothing to something?" They can't answer it, because it's all about God.

bottom line this is an issue of faith because no one really knows and no one can "prove" one way or the other. believe what is right for you and give me the same respect.
