play music, keep occupied, think of anything but running. thats the mian turn off about runing is that you think about it. Plan your day while your running, keep the cordless phone next to you so you don't have an excuse to stop. This worked for me. I deplyed to the desert and I hate running but it is so boring over there, there is nothing to do but run. I ran every single day for 3 miles and it only takes 30 minutes. You wont see any changes in your body for a few weeks to a month, but be patient. Don't even use a scale, go by how you clothes feel. Once you have been doing this for like 3 or 4 months you will start to form a habbit for running, the best habbit you can get. On days you don't wanna run you will feel like you need to or have to, and it is good for you, then you can start doing it everyother day

Yes, TV is great. Chose a show that you generally feel guilty watching, where you feel you should be doing other things when you watch it. This way, you will be doing other things and still indulging in the show. And I swear, it is habit forming. You'll feel so good afterwards, you'll always want to do it. Do as much as you can for the first two days, then gradually add three minutes every two days. Ideally, four times a week of thirty minutes is a very good goal, more is even better. I hope it is not a manual treadmill.

Get up in the morning and get it over with if you have time. We also just installed a small plasma screen tv right in front of the treadmill on the wall. That helps to pass the time if you can walk/run during a favorite 30 minute show. You can even use headphones if you need to keep it down.

I don't have one but I always wanted one. I thought to about the motivation if I had one. I think the best thing to do is put it in front of the t.v. while a good show is on. Or get on it while waiting for the oven to heat up the clothes dryer to go off etc.

I buy TV series on DVD and treadmill to each episode. I get caught up so I want to keep watching/treadmilling to see what happens next. Also, it keeps me focused on the show so I am not bored or focusing on the pain of treadmilling.
And no commercials!

put it in place of your couch. then if you watch tv just run or walk on it. you may have to turn up the tv to hear it depending on you and your treadmill but if you can keep a schedule for 5 weeks it will be habit hang in there.

You might want to try putting a pic of yourself that you think you looked your best in and tape it to the front. Or maybe hot dress.. etc.
