Here's the deal. My parents are super serious about grades, especially in math. I got a D+ on my first quiz and then a B on the second and a B+ on the test and another B on another quiz. I just took another test and I'm pretty sure I did bad on it, but how do I tell my parents that I'm gonna work on it and not get them mad atall. Or maybe should I say something to them before I even get the test back? For them nothing below a A- is acceptable. PLEASE HELP!

Try not not to make them mad and try to not talk about it unless you have to and then try to make good grades from that point on

I would discuss the ongoing struggle with math and casually drop a concern that you might have dropped the ball on the recent test. Believe me, they can read you and they probably already know this. At least you aren't trying to scam them with phony this or that.

No use in telling your parents that you are "gonna work on it." You've said it all before and you either kept your word or you didn't. Your reputation precedes you. Better, get down to work and take on math as a job and prove that you can do the job and not get "fired." A tutor available at school? Privately? It's corny, I know, but as you do homework so will you complete assignments for an employer. That's why they give homework - to see if one can complete an assignment just as they will when the boss hands them something and says, "Dude, have this on my dest by 8 a.m. in the morning." Get that reputation of yours where it needs to be. Friends? Don't they also have stuff to do for school? Good luck.

I never pressured my kids to get good grades, but I did expect them to do their best. If you are studying, doing your homework, living right (no partying, no excessive time on the computer) etc. then I'd point these things out. I was terrible in math and I studied my head off. If they won't settle for less than an A- then maybe you could get someone to talk with THEM
