I have had that problem my entire life. I really don't know what to tell you. My advise to you is to NOT worry about what other people think because in reality, it doesn't matter what they think. Like that old saying goes "say what you mean, and mean what you say". Hope this helps.

I'm very sensitive but I'm immune because I've studied Eastern spirituality, and become centered. And I shield.
I once had a panic attack in Las Vegas years ago. Recently I visited & had never been more at peace.
Soft and timid is indeed a good thing. Water is the softest thing on Earth, yet it's extremely powerful.
Follow nature and the path of least resistance and nothing can go wrong.

Being sensitive isnt always a bad thing. Soft and timid can be good, but to be assertive just believe in something. It will probably be out of your comfort zone but speak up for yourself if something bad happens to you. You dont have to yell or anything, but a few words can go a long way

Read up on books about confidence and assertiveness, or buy some audio series on it. I am sure that in this huge world, the same question has come up more than once.

Speak up when you feel it is right. Say what you want to. Don't let others shoot you or your ideas down. You have it within yourself to let your voice be heard. Ask questions if you don't understand. Talk to strangers. Be friendly with everyone you meet. Say hi and smile at people. Come out of your shell and you will find that your confidence will grow.

With counseling you might be able to improve, but even then it is difficult. Try joining clubs, maybe the drama club, public speaking classes, etc. Maybe choir so you get experience in different social settings.

the only cure is to go through a lot. The more you have to deal with and go through, the more desensitized you will become.

Perhaps you have an anxiety disorder. Talking with a counselor might help you figure it out. There is medication to help with that.
