Neither - if you want it to be in correct English.

You do not read or watch a watch.

You could say - Don't look at the clock too often
or - Don't check your watch too often

It is usually - the clock and your watch.

They both mean different things..... if you watch your watch too often you would be just sitting there looking at it for some length of time on a regular basis. If you read your watch too often you are checking the time too much.

..Neither one sounds right to me..I might say ,, stop looking at the clock all the time....But, if it has to be a choice between one or two,I guess I would have to choose one, but it is still missing a word...like this...Don't read your watch , SO Often....also it might not be correct to say READ,,because we don't read a watch we look at it...We all say it, but if this is for school ,it is not proper..
