Muslims don't worship Buddha, they worship God (without form). Perhaps you didn't go to a mosque but instead went to a Buddhist temple. Buddhists honor Buddha as a great teacher, but do not worship Buddha. Some Hindus worship the Buddha as an incarnation of God (just as some Hindus worship Jesus as yet another incarnation of God...and Krishna, Rama, etc are also incarnations of God). Jains recognize Buddha as a great teacher, but do not equate him to the same status as their founder Mahavira.
Muslims are followers of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). Islam is their religion.

They worship Allah, a cousin of God. They, although well could, don't worship Buddha for Buddhaism more than a religion is a way of life

If they were worshipping Buddha they were not Muslims and you didn't go to a mosque. Muslims don't worship Buddha.

You appear to have been really, really, really lost - or mislead. Or perhaps you were worshipping Jose Cuervo before you went to this "mosque" (maybe it was a "masque" and everyone was dressed up, and you mistook the fat guy painted in gold for Buddha?) At any rate, Muslims worship Allah (God who, by any other name, is still God).

Muslims worship God only, they do not worship any of the prophets. You probably went to a buddhist temple, or may be you are just acting dumb.

No, they worship the ground they walk on. Don't you ever see them kissing it? That is there god. If they are worshiping Buddha, they are not Muslim.

No Muslims worship Allah and only Allah. Allah is only one. You probably saw something else other than a mosque, we do not even keep images.... No muslim worship any prophet by the way so Ali's answer is also wrong! We respect the prophets all equally and we do remmember them in our daily lives. From Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed Peace be upon them all. (*Note I am not mentioning all the prophets here).
