My guess is you probably had colored your hair or done some sort of chemical on your hair before getting this perm? This is what usually happens when people do home color. If your hair was healthy and had no other chemicals on your hair this would not have happened.

I refuse to perm a persons hair if it has any store color on it or is weak or damaged. The reason why is because the hair will not curl, it will turn out just like you said tiny, frizzy waves.

I would say your stylist should have tried talking you out of it or refused to do it. Your stylist is somewhat at fault.

Your hair can only take so much until it just looses it strength, I think that is what happened here.

You need a good cut, lots of layers to bounce up some curl and good products suck as deep conditioning.

Good Luck,
Stylist of 9 yrs.

I can relate, my last perm was a nightmare. I'm getting a NEW stylist this month. I would try the L'Anza line, I think Trade Secret has it. I liked the Garnier Hair Masque. I used lots of conditioning and Frizz-Ease and then gel on top of that. Never dry with a dryer. I had half my hair cut off last month. You should call the stylist that did that and demand a refund. They probably didn't rinse & blot well enough - human error. My stylist typically gave me beautiful perms, the last time a disaster, however. I have been going to her for six years and she's all about the money now and could care less whether people come back. Once they take you for granted, you should shop around and find someone that values your repeat business. Good luck! :)

Wash it and deep condition like everyone else says. Then also blow dry and use a round brush to help straighten. The more you can do to relax the curl the better. Also, contact the salon ASAP and talk to the manager about the perm. Demand they either fix it or refund every penny.

Same thing happened to me once only my lasted one night (the lady mixed up the order the chemicals were put on my hair). Fun huh!

If your perm is really bad, and chia pet curly, you can use a hair straightner after you condition it to get it straight, after a couple of washes you will start releasing some of the tight curls. I would recommened to contact your stylist who did your perm and let them know the perm was done to tight, they will redo your perm and maybe this time it will be done right. I know how you feel, my blessings...

When did you get it? Just today? Quick!!! Get in the shower and wash your hair. I've never had a perm but washing your hair too soon after a perm is supposed to deactivate the perm.

Wash it, and deep condition it. Call the hair dresser and tell them that you are very unhappy with the results and what can they do about it? You should be able to get some of your money back, or at least a voucher on your next hair cut!

Put some rolls on, then it will be nice and soft, cool curls too. Perms always do that. It's not a bad perm, your hair just need some after workl.

Buy a hair product for frizzies, and use that on it. Best wishes.
