I know it sounds basic, but I don't understand why people hate each other so much. As a Christian, I try to be the best Christian I can. When I see discrimination against other peoples, like Muslims or Jews, it sickens me. In my high school, I knew more good Muslims and Jews then Christians. I see the famous conservative Christians and how many, in some way, support intolerance. What doesn't make sense is that when a person forces their religion onto someone else, they more then likely won't listen, yet people continue to still do it anyway.

It sounds simple, yet I know people who still say that all Muslims are terrorists. If all Muslims are terrorists, then all Christians are Amish, all agnostics and athiests are amoral murderers and rapists, and all Jews are cheap bankers. What I am asking is, when will America be able to finally be able to get along and shed this veil of intolerance and hatred from us?

As long as there is religion and the ability to have free choice of that religion you will never see it happen.

The answer to your question is simple: We won't all get along because we don't want to.

Each religion you mentioned shares a belief near the core that they are right and everyone else is wrong. This causes problems. The obvious solution is to interpret the bible/torah/koran it so that everyone is right, but then that lessens the power of the individual religion. Why be Christian or Muslim when I could be neither and still be right?

So we as a people, CHOOSE to fight and be intolerant. Some of us are blatantly intolerant (like the conservatives you mentioned) and others are passively intolerant. That is a Christian (for example) that wishes no harm on a Muslim but just *knows* they are going to hell for worshiping God differently.

after Christ comes, after islam is put down, after alla is exposed as a god not God, all Christians are not amish, and intolerance should be for the lie, not the religion. I am not tollerant of violent religions such as islam and muslim because their religion teaches false doctrine, and leads people away from the Living God, the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob. The Father of our savior Jesus Christ, by which he is the only name by which we can be resucued from hell. The Truth must be known. and I am intoloerant of the lie because of the people who are going to burn because they are decieved into believing a lie. Are you not concerned about those who are perishing??

It all has to do with our belief systems - if people could find a way to change their destructive and intolerant beliefs, then it would probably be easy for us all to get along. I think we can do this if we teach our children values in our schools as a primary curriculum, while dropping "facts and figures" to a secondary status to be learned later in life (when you may need it).

intolerance is a politically correct term that has gotten popular in the last decade. It is being spread by some to usher in the one world order.

How tolerant was Jesus when he ran the money changers out of the temple. Or how tolerant was Elijah when he called fire down from heaven and said the God who answers by fire let him be God.

Society as a whole is still in its infancy. The truest or main job of all is to bring Love where Love seems not to be. We all are God and God is evolving into both pure non-physical Love and pure physical Love in one sphere. Society in its infancy is still learning what not to do. In my 60 years of being here I have learnt tons of what not do and I am still learning… how long will millions or billions of people as a whole/society take?

Variety is the spice of life and man is created with free will and natural racism.

There is a beast in man that has to be restrained and most do not attempt to restrain their greed.

If 'ifs' and 'buts' were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas.
