we are evolved mammals.here is a definition

The mammals are the class of vertebrate animals characterized by the presence of mammary glands, which in females produce milk for the nourishment of young; the presence of hair or fur; and endothermic or "warm-blooded" bodies. The brain regulates endothermic and circulatory systems, including a four-chambered heart. Mammals encompass some 5,500 species (including Humans), distributed in about 1,200 genera, 152 families and up to 46 orders, though this varies with the classification scheme.

Phylogenetically, Mammalia is defined as all descendants of the most recent common ancestor of monotremes (e.g., echidnas and platypuses) and therian mammals (marsupials and placentals).

Yes we most certainly are. To imply otherwise is to state that we are above the Earth, better than it and its other inhabitants. In fact, we are no better than the fly, the tiger or the snake. We are different, but that is all. We are not superior, nor are we imbued with some unknown extra-life force or whatever that separates us from our environment. Tell me, if we weren't animals, what would you classify a homo sapien as?

It is within our abilities to hunt, to reproduce, to survive, and feel pain like all animals. We are an advanced form of animal species that can much more than most living species on Earth can do. To say we are not animals is folly. Listen to the scientists who talk about how we developed as a species.

That really depends on what you wish to believe. From a Christian point of view, no, we are not animals. God, for one, has given man a soul and access to Heaven, which animals lack. He also stated that man has charge over animals. I can't speak for any other religions. We are, however, considered animals in science, because we are multicellular heterotrophs capable of locomotion. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide.

No. Just think about that. Do animals engineer skyscrapers? Do animals fly jetliners into the skyscrapers? Do animals extract crude oil and refine it and burn it in automobiles? Do animals exhibit humans in zoo cages? Come on, are you really serious? Do animals fly to the moon and walk on it?
