Hi Yahoo people!

I get real bad migraines. I'm in bed about 75% of my life because of them. I feel like I'm letting my friends down, and the homework keeps piling up.

No drugs help anymore and the leading doctors in the field are no help.

Make me feel better! What should I do?

Depression and anxiety can be the real culprits. Why don't you try to treat those symptoms. Herbal supplements are all natural and safe and very effective to relieve depression and anxiety. This site has a lot of information about this. Good Luck !

I had migraines for years, bad ones and like you I was in bed a lot. They rob you of your life and your friends. I have had only had 4 this year. That's right this YEAR... I used to have 2 or 3 a week, followed by cluster headaches. Here's what worked for me:

Vitamin B shots weekly. (You might have to find a weight loss doctor, even if you don't have a weight problem, they seem to be the ones who believe in the use of Vit B injections.) I felt better within an hour of the first one I got and when I missed 2 weeks worth I got my 1st migraine in 6 months. Don't know why it works, but it does. Stops aches and pains due to arthritis and the like, too.

Walk at least 20-30 minutes every day. The fresh air is good and exercise keeps your body healthy and improves your mood.

STOP taking other medications like aleve, etc. and drink lots of water. Don't cut out caffeine all at once, go slow. Do cut out sodas and excess sugar where you can.

If you have a bad migraine, go to urgent care and ask for a toradol injection. It's non-narcotic and won't give you the rebound effect of demerol, and it won't depress your already depressed central nervous system. If you are also nauseous, have them give you a phenergan injection for that. That will make you drowsy so go to sleep to help break the pain cycle.

Of course, avoid alcohol, especially red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon if you must imbibe, it has no sulfates). Stay away from fermented things and preservatives like cheese, hot dogs, apple cider, frozen juices, salami and the like.

Most importantly, keep working at it until you find the answer for you. I got lucky and had a doctor who had migraines also. He was awesome!

PS: I tried chiropractic care and I had one doctor that was super, but 6 others I have tried since I moved aren't worth the drive. It's not a bad idea if you find a good one.

You are very stressed out. If medicine does not work for your headaches try going to a chiropractor because your back is not in line this also could cause depression and anxiety attacks. You need to sit back in life and just see what you want to do. Definitely try to go see a chiropractor I know it has help me a lot. Good Luck!

So the doctors just gave you medication? If you haven't seen them in awhile, then i would go back and tell them this isnt working either not strong enough or w.e. You should probably ask about getting some x-rays done. I foget what their called, the ones for your brain and that. Cause it could be something really bad going on in you brain.

The only thing that has ever worked for my migraines, and I've tried several prescription drugs, is good old Excedrin. If you've tried it and it doesn't work for you, perhaps you should go to a headache clinic. They might suggest behavior changes and diet changes that might help.

Drugs and chemicals won't help, just ask my wife!!

Avoid Aspartame and Caffeine like the plague.

2 litres bottled still mineral water a day (anyone who tells you bottled water is a hype has no idea what they are talking about).

Find a woman (my wife) who was never known not to have a migraine three years ago.

You do not have to suffer!

I just took an adult ed class on digestion which was extremely informative. I think you need to consult with a dietician and read this book called "Don't eat anything that isn't food" or something like that. The instructor got a lot of his material from this book.

Revel in the knowledge that you still are certain that the remaining 25% is still very worth living for!!!

If you're still in high school, then maybe you'd do well to obtain a GED so you're able to study according to your schedule.

Somewhere, there is an answer, and I'm praying you'll find it soon.

Much luck!
